Over the next couple of weeks I will be moving this blog over to wordpress.
I do hope you will follow me over there as my blog will now be part of...drum roll please...MY NEW WEBSITE.
I even have a new logo:
which is all part of the webdesign completed by Jarryd Adams of Jarryd Adams Design.
One of the many things that adds to this excitement is that I used to teach Jarryd and it is extra special to have my site designed by him.
So what will be on my site? Well the blog as I have mentioned and also you will now be able to shop directly from the site.
I still have quite a bit to organise but you are more than welcome to take a peek and of course feel free to let me know what you think.
See you on the other side xx

The Dead of Winter Market
Last Saturday was full on at CPIT for the latest Craft Collective Market with over 70 stalls full of creativity. I had a busy day with all my Ninjas disappearing as Ninjas tend to do and quite a few tea towels and other bits and bobs doing a disappearing act into peoples' bags as well.
Here is a shot of part of my stall with some screen-printing loveliness in the foreground.
I also managed to do a little bit of shopping (well it would have been rude not to!!)
I got this amazing plate from Shits about to get dainty and the terranium from Jenna Grey. I also bought some earrings which I had been desiring for a while from Hello Lovely
All in all a pretty fab day and thanks again to Abbie and her helpers from The Craft Collective for another well oragnised, incredibly creative and inspiring market.

Procrastination At Its' Best
Next Saturday is The Craft Collective's Dead of Winter Market, which I am once again so lucky to have a stall in.
Now any sane person would be spending the weekend and any available time printing and sewing and completing general market prep wouldn't they?
You would think so!!
But sadly one of the many things I am learning about myself as I continue on this more creative path is that I am really, really good at procrastinating hence, the following pictures of a quilt top that I have sewn up this weekend.
I have been wanting to make a graphic quilt top for a while now and I am really pleased with how it has turned out..it looks pretty awesome on my chevron wall. All the fabrics are from The Make Cafe-it might actually make a great quilting class...hmmm.
No excuses now must get back to market prep. Hope you can make it down to CPIT on Saturday.

The Great British Encraftment Market

It was crazy busy at the market which was held for the first time at Rangi Ruru College's hall with 2000 through the door.
All stallholders needed to provide items with a British influence and although I was tempted to supply my own personal pom-he didn't seem that keen so I decided to make some MOD influenced tea towels and cushions which reminded me how much I love mod styling. I think I will continue to print my mod things,

Making Samples
You may or may not know that I have the pleasure of teaching classes at the fantabulous Make Cafe here in Christchurch.
This evening I have been creating some Woodland Creatures for a potential workshop for kids.
Here is what I came up with complete with a forest background that would be fun to colour in.
Of course there is a fox (that really goes without saying!!) an owl, hedgehog and a toadstool.
What I'm really liking about these creatures is that I have made them from some drawings I did a couple of weeks ago when we first talked about having another felt workshop for kids. I am really liking that I am able to create the whole process from drawing to finished creature-not that, for me is pretty exciting!!

Craft Love Festival

This Festival/market is being held in conjunction with Around the Table-bloggers connecting which has been organised by some amazing and talented local women who have even made it to Stuff which is fabulous publicity for the event! I am going to the dinner on Saturday night which is looking to be an interesting get together.
I've just finished a little bit of sewing and I'm playing around with a mock set up for tomorrow night...
foxes, ninjas, squiggle-bops, cushions t-shirts, tea-towels, pillowcases, hoop embroidery and purses-it's almost like a mini homewares store.

Scraps
I have just started to play with some of the scraps I got from Cat in the Scrap Bag Swap. It's really exciting (especially for a fabric addict such as myself) to say I have so many scraps to choose from. Here is a little stitchery from one of my many doodles I began at a market last weekend. I call her/it Red. I think I'll leave it in the hoop but will need to put a backing on it..so almost completed...
