Mod Podge Tutorial!!

It's the school Holidays down this way and to maintain an element of sanity I have made a real effort to do some creating. I'm especially pleased with this little table I Mod Podged and whitewashed.
This is a project which is fun to do and easy enough for children to do too.
You will need:
  • Something to decorate-I used a small table I purchased from my local Ecoshop

  • Some Mod Podge
  • A paint brush
  • Sandpaper
  • Whitewash -I used Resene's Colorwood Whitewash
  • Fabric Scraps although you could quite easily use paper scraps

Firstly I removed the legs from the table, lightly sanded them and then coated them with the whitewash and put them aside to dry.

Then the fun part...I cut up various fabric scraps and adhered them to my table by coating the surface with Mod Podge attaching the fabric and then coating the fabric once again with modpodge.

Once both sides of the table was covered with fabric and the Mod Podge was given a chance to dry, I re-attached the legs to the table and viola. my little table was complete.

  1. Looks great. I did something similar to this with maps on an old coffee table

  2. What do you use to wipe down your 'modge podge' table when cleaning?

    1. I just use "Spray & Wipe" an NZ all purpose cleaner.
